Armarkat Cat Tree 72-inch Review (2026)

Armarkat Classic 72-inch uses fleece-covered platforms, sisal rope scratching posts, and a hammock at the mid-level. It accommodates multiple cats at different height preferences and replaces all other scratching surfaces in the room for most households.

Stability Assessment

The 72-inch version can wobble on carpet if the base is not properly anchored. Use the wall anchor strap included in the box — on carpet, it's essential to prevent tip-over for larger or heavier cats jumping from height. On hardwood, the non-slip base pads provide adequate stability without wall anchoring.

Scratch Surface Effectiveness

Sisal rope is the material cats instinctively prefer for scratching over carpet, wood, or fabric. Armarkat's sisal posts are substantial enough to redirect most cats completely from furniture. If your cat has existing furniture scratching habits, place the tree next to the furniture corner they prefer, then gradually move it to your desired location.

Quick verdict

What we love
  • Six platforms at different heights satisfy multiple climbing preferences
  • Sisal rope posts redirect scratching from furniture
  • Hammock and condos for different resting styles
Heads up
  • Assembly takes 45-90 minutes
  • Fleece pills and shows wear after 6-12 months

✓ Buy it if…

Multi-cat households or single-cat owners wanting to redirect scratching and climbing from furniture to a dedicated structure.

✕ Skip it if…

Owners of large cats (Maine Coons, Ragdolls) who may find the platforms too small.

Tucker's bottom line

The best value large cat tree on the market. Anchor it properly and it'll serve multiple cats for years.

Common questions

Is it stable enough for large cats?
Yes with wall anchor. Without, it can tip when a 15+ lb cat jumps from the top. Always use the included anchor strap.
How long does assembly take?
45-90 minutes with two people. One person alone can assemble but it's significantly harder to hold platforms while inserting posts.
